Personal Safety Training is imperative for any organisation wishing to reduce workplace violence.  Our courses and talks are valuable for all staff who may from time to time work with members of the public e.g. interviewing, home visits, travel, outreach work, lone working).    This course can also be combined with our Managing Challenging Behaviour Courses.  All our courses will be tailored to suit your requirements and budgets.  Below is a sample of the content we can cover in our personal safety courses.

The NNTC has teamed up with virtual college to provide cost effective e-learning training solutions in personal safety (see below)

  •  Personal Safety & The Law

This quick, fun (not boring) and interactive session highlights the legal responsibilities placed on staff and managers

This simple two minute process encourages delegates to spend a little time before a meeting, visit or journey assessing potential risks and then acting on their assessment by PLANNING for their safety

  • Keeping yourself Safe when out and about

Delegates will develop individual strategies for improving and ensuring their safety whist travelling or working out and about in the community

  • Working in other people's homes

Developing safe working practices and safe escape strategies to keep yourself safe.  We will review any lone worker systems the organisation may have in place and reinforce their importance or suggest improvements to be made.

Obviously these are just examples of what we could cover on the course.  Contact us and we will discuss your requirements and develop a course to suit.

Methodology

The courses are run in a lively interactive student-centred manner. There will be opportunities for delegates to interact with each other in a safe learning environment.

Benefits

Personal Safety Training will increase delegates confidence in the day to day aspects of their work.  They will become more aware of their personal safety and be prepared to be able to deal with difficult situations if they arise.  It will also reinforce the importance of following procedures, guidelines and safe systems of working for all who attend.

Personal Safety Awareness Sessions
Female trainer giving personal safety talk

Personal Safety Awareness Sessions and talks are an excellent way to introduce the subject of workplace violence. They are particularly popular with organisations wishing to raise awareness and disseminate information to large groups quickly.  Previous clients have also found them an ideal way to launch more in-depth personal safety training programmes.

Talks usually last between 1 – 2 hours and can take place at a time convenient to you, for example: during a lunch break; at conferences. These high impact talks are designed for both workers and their managers.

Give your staff the confidence to carry out their work safely and without the fear of violent attack.  These short impact talks are lively, interactive and informative.  They are especially useful if you have a limited budget or large numbers of staff to train.
